Flights and other travel
Our Mediterranean itinerary has been devised with flights in mind (and we are eternally grateful for the low cost airlines forcing the others to offer one way flights too). The earlier you book the cheaper the flight.
Malta is well and cheaply served by 3 airlines - with Air Malta itself flying from Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton several times a day and Ryan Air and EasyJet each offering a daily flight. Book on www.airmalta.com or via an on line agent. Nisida is a 20 euro taxi journey from the airport. For the Easter cruise, the Marazamemi Race weekend and the Middle Sea you'll need a return flight to Malta, for the deliveries you will need just a one way one.
Crete has a daily flight with EasyJet from Gatwick plus a host of charter flights. However for the Archaeological cruise, which is over half term week, these are very expensive and a much cheaper option is to go via Athens with Aegean Air or Olympic or via Zurich with Swiss Air - book via e.g. www.expedia.co.uk or www.ebookers.com
Athens is very well served by British Airways from Heathrow as well as other airlines including easyJet.. For the Aegean Rally the boat will be a tube journey from the airport, for the Cyclades Regatta we'll confirm nearer the time, once they have confirmed the race course) the best travel options (probably either to fly to Crete and sail the boat up from there or fly to Athens and get a ferry).
For the Aegean Regatta and the delivery back to Malta you may want to fly to or from the northern Aegean. There are flights to Lesbos, some via Athens. Or you can join the boat in Athens and sail up - we'll publish more details nearer the time.
